When GLP-1s took off, we saw a gap. Medicine had the prescriptions. Wellness businesses had the relationships and the coaching. Almost nobody was connecting the two, and clients were stuck in between.

Crystal Broussard, MD

Dr. Broussard has practiced family medicine in The Woodlands, Texas, since 2005. She earned her medical degree at The University of Texas–Houston and completed her family medicine residency in Conroe.

Her focus on medical weight management is personal. After losing 100 pounds herself following the birth of her first child, she built her practice around physician-supervised weight loss that puts long-term lifestyle change first, the same lifestyle-first approach coaches learn in these certifications.

She is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians, where she serves on task forces that teach other medical professionals to treat obesity, and she volunteers her time teaching residents.

Is it allowed for a coach to work with GLP-1 clients?

Do I need a medical license?

How long does it take?

What happens after I’m certified?
